Our story

Putting India’s railways to work for your parcels

Deliverail exists to make shipping affordable, fast, and sustainable — by tapping the most efficient freight network the country already has: the railways.

Why we started Deliverail

Sending a parcel across India has long meant a hard trade-off: pay a premium for speed, or wait days for something affordable. Couriers mark up every gram, while road freight crawls through traffic and burns diesel the whole way.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways moves millions of tonnes every day — quickly, cheaply, and with a tiny carbon footprint per kilogram. The catch was access: booking parcel space, handling first and last mile, and tracking it all was painful for everyday shippers.

Deliverail bridges that gap. We handle doorstep pickup, the rail leg, and final delivery, with live tracking throughout — so you get airway speed at railway price, without lifting a finger.

We’re not building another courier. We’re making the country’s best freight network usable by everyone.

Mission and vision

Our mission

Make affordable, fast, and sustainable shipping accessible to every individual and business in India by unlocking rail freight.

Our vision

An India where rail is the default way to move parcels — cutting logistics costs and transport emissions at national scale.

How rail freight changes logistics

The same shipment, on a smarter network.

Lower cost per kg

Rail carries freight at a fraction of road cost. We pass those savings straight to you.

Predictable speed

Scheduled departures skip highway congestion, so transit times stay consistent.

Far less carbon

Rail emits roughly a third of the CO₂ of road trucking for the same tonne-kilometre.

Sustainability

Every shipment is a climate choice

Transport is one of the fastest-growing sources of emissions in India. Shifting freight from road to rail is one of the highest-impact levers we have — and it needs no new technology, just better access.

Rail freight emits roughly 0.022 kg CO₂ per tonne-kilometre, versus about 0.062 kg for road trucking. That means most of the emissions of a typical road shipment simply disappear when it goes by rail.

How we move freight

Your shipment travels on the Indian Railways parcel network, with the first and last mile handled by local pickup and delivery partners.

  1. First mile: Local pickup partners collect your parcel from the doorstep and bring it to the origin station.
  2. Line haul: The long-distance leg travels as booked parcel freight on the Indian Railways parcel network.
  3. Last mile: At the destination, local delivery partners carry the parcel from the station to the receiver.
