Terms of Service

Last updated

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Deliverail website, mobile experience and rail-led parcel delivery service across India. By creating an account, requesting a quote or booking a shipment, you agree to these terms.

This document applies to your use of Deliverail ("we", "us") — the operator of this service. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. If anything is unclear, contact support@deliverail.in and we will help.

1. About Deliverail

Deliverail ("we", "us") — the operator of this service — provides a managed parcel logistics service that uses Indian Railways for the long-distance line-haul leg, combined with first-mile pickup and last-mile delivery handled by us or our delivery partners.

Service is currently available between Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Surat and Udupi. Coverage, routes and cut-off times may change from time to time and are shown at the point of booking.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract to use the service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including sender and receiver names, phone numbers, addresses and pincodes.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Bookings and the rail line-haul model

When you book a shipment, you authorise us to collect the parcel, transport it by rail on a scheduled service, and deliver it to the receiver address. Transit estimates are based on train schedules and are indicative, not guaranteed.

Because line-haul depends on Indian Railways schedules, delays caused by rail operations, weather, force majeure or events beyond our reasonable control may extend delivery times. We will keep you updated through tracking and notifications.

4. Pricing, payment and GST

Prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) and are calculated from chargeable weight, origin and destination, shipment type and any applicable surcharges shown at booking.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) is applied at the prevailing statutory rate and is shown separately in your quote and on your tax invoice. A GST-compliant invoice is issued for each completed booking and is available from your dashboard.

Coupons and promotional discounts are subject to their own terms and may be withdrawn at any time.

5. Prohibited and restricted items

You must not ship items prohibited by law or by Indian Railways parcel rules, including but not limited to: cash and bullion, hazardous or flammable goods, explosives, illegal substances, perishables outside permitted categories, live animals, and any item whose carriage is restricted by applicable regulation.

Full details of restricted items are set out in our Shipping Policy. We may refuse, hold or return any shipment that we reasonably believe breaches these rules.

6. Your responsibilities

You must pack parcels securely for rail transit, declare contents and value honestly, and ensure the receiver is available to accept delivery. Incorrect addresses, under-declared value or inadequate packaging may lead to delays, additional charges, returns or rejected claims.

7. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Deliverail's liability for loss of or damage to a shipment is limited to the cover described in our Insurance Terms. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indian law.

8. Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel a booking before pickup for a full refund of the shipping charge. Once a parcel has been picked up, cancellation and refund are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy. Please read that policy alongside these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, the law or our business. We will post the updated version with a revised "last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India, subject to applicable consumer protection rights.

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@deliverail.in.
